DAY 02 Covelong-Kanchipuram-Covelong
Full day sightseeing of Kanchipuram, a town famous for its silk fabric and temples visiting Ekambareswara, Kailashnath, Varadaraja, and Vaikuntha Temples. This Golden City of a thousand temples is one of the seven sacred cities of India. It served as the capital of the Pallavas, the Cholas and Vijayanagar Empire. Some of the best temples in the town are the finest examples of the Pallava architecture.
DAY 03 Covelong-Tanjore-Trichy
Early morning depart for Trichy en route exploring Tanjore, once the capital of the mighty Cholas and now an important district of Tamil Nadu. Visit the world heritage site Brihadeshwara Temple built by Raja Raja Chola I in the 10th century AD. Also visit the Museum which houses the fine specimens famous paintings, continue drive to Trichy and check into hotel. DAY 04 Trichy
Morning depart for sightseeing of Srirangam, well known for its Ranganathaswamy temple. This 13th Century temple is situated on an island on Cauvery River and is connected to the mainland by a bridge. Visit the Jambukeswara Temple. Afternoon stroll through old city particularly big bazaar street and China bazaar.
DAY 05 Trichy-Madurai
Morning depart for Madurai. Upon arrival check into hotel. Afternoon , visit the Tirumala Nayak Palace with its musical pillars. .Evening sightseeing the world famous Meenakshi Temple, pinnacle of Dravidian temple architecture. Overnight stay at Madurai.
DAY 06 Madurai-Periyar
Morning depart for famous Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. Late afternoon proceed on a wildlife tour on a boat. The animals found here are Elephants, Bisons, Wild Dogs, Hyenas, Monkeys, Deer, Wild Hen. Wild Elephants can often be sighted here. Overnight stay at Periyar.
